Caldeirada Festival in Armação de Pêra
The Annual Caldeirada Festival in Armação de Pêra will be taking place this year on Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th May, 2019
A number of local restaurants, including our Por do Sol Restaurant participate, and as well as serving Caldeirada we will also have other typical fish dishes available. Caldeirada” is a typical Algarvian dish which consists of stewed fish and sea food with potatoes, onions ,tomatoes, pimentos, spices wine and olive oil.

Delicious food in a lovely room
There were nine of us. The service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the lamb pasanda and the meat melted in my mouth. Delicious. Lovely dining room in a great position overlooking the beautiful beach.
21st Edition of the International Youth Football Tournament
The 21st Edition of the International Youth Football Tournament of Armação de Pêra, took place on the weekend of 30th and 31st March, 2019 in Armação de Pêra.

This is a match made in heaven for lovers of fine cuisine, seafood, fine wine, beautiful beaches and the sea.
My partner and I visited Armação de Pera recently; we stayed at the Holiday Inn on a beautiful part of the Algarve coast, Palm Beach restaurant sits right at the bottom of the hotel directly on the beach, it’s accessible via the town promenade as well as directly via the hotel.
With its tropical fairly tale atmosphere, Palm Beach restaurant offers stunning sceneries, impeccable service, fine wine and the freshest fish at affordable prices.
My meat eater partner was not disappointed by the meat offers on the menu, he opted for a fillet steak with local Portuguese sauce which was cooked to perfection. I indulged into what must have been the biggest sole I have ever come across, skilfully filleted for me at the table and again beautifully cooked. The choice of wine we were presented with was a perfect marriage with our choices of food.
