Thank you and congratulations to all those
who participated in the Traditional Charity Swim on Christmas Day in Armação de
Pêra.
Santas
started arriving from 10.30am, and at 11.00am a great number of Santas ran
toward the sea for their annual dip in the ocean
Three
TV film crews filmed the event and interviewed a number of participants. This
brought a lot of national attention to the event. Our thanks to RTP, TVI
and CM TV.
Certificates were awarded to all those who
got wet and everyone enjoyed a very welcome glass of Hot Chocolate and Brandy
in the Holiday Inn Algarve Bar afterwards.
A big thank you to everyone who participated, the media for
helping with the publicity, Dave Sheldrake Photography and Diogo Correia for
photographing the event and for all the donations - just under 700 Euros
was raised yesterday for ‘Espaço Amigos’ charity in Armação de
Pêra and ‘A Gaivota’ in Albufeira.
In order to raise more funds - there is another Charity Swim on 1st January at 11.00am - just the way to recover from the festivities of New Year's Eve - welcome in 2016 by paddling or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean - what an achievement ! Come and join us for a fun-filled Charity Swim .. have a dip in the ocean and help to raise money for local children in need.

Then recover in the Holiday Inn Algarve bar afterwards and enjoy a Hot Chocolate. Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that they do so at their own risk. Please bring a donation and help us to raise money for two local charities: ‘Espaço Amigo’ Armação de Pêra and ‘A Gaivota’ - Albufeira.

We were delighted that Father Christmas and one of his elves found time to visit the Hotel on Christmas Day!!!!!
