Went over to visit friends in Armacao for a long weekend and stayed at the Holiday Inn for its proximity to the places I needed to be.

 

Managed to check in early as I arrived at 11 am. My booked room wasn't ready so the front desk found me another. I was very pleasantly surprised to find I was placed in a seaview room on the 4th floor.

 

The view is amazing. My stay was peaceful and incident free and I was able to come and go in a relaxed fashion. Whenever I needed help the staff were very accommodating. Would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel to celebrate the New Year. we had a fabulous time.

 

When we entered the dining room for the evening buffet the display and food on offer took our breath away. The freshness and colour of the display resulted in the most delicious meal. The waiters circulated continuously topping up our wine of a high quality. A first class band then began to play and everyone joined in the dancing. The cabarete that followed was colourful, entertaining and skilful with colourful costumes.

 

We have been to many high class Hotels through out the world but this must be the best of the lot . In particularly we offer our congratulations to the catering. staff

 

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room., or if you want to see the sea view and the sun rise and sun set from your balcony.

 

 

 

Querença Sausage Fair, 2014

The 2014 Querença Chorizo Festival will take place on Sunday, 19th January.

It is a festival in honour of St. Luis (the protector of animals).

Traditionally the families in inland Algarve raised a pig to sustain themselves through the year and asked St. Luis to keep it in good health. To thank the saint they offer their best homemade chorizo.

The festival includes a procession, musical entertainment and, of course, lots of homemade chorizo!

This event will include a procession, tastings of grilled sausages and lots of music.

First time to Holiday Inn Algarve

Had a great holiday at Holiday Inn Algarve not been before, will be back in the new year march all being well !

Ladies on reception were lovely very helpful, food good lots of choice indian restaurant exellent !...

Our room small but comfortable and clean with seaview. Also what a great spot the hotel is in.

Jazz Night - 22nd February, 2014

Swim for Shoes 2013/14

Swim for Shoes 2013/14, the annual event to swim or paddle in the Atlantic Ocean has, this year, so far raised just over 1100 Euros for new shoes for children in care.

Many congratulations and thanks to all those who participated.

This year on Christmas day it was a swim with a difference - due to the sea conditions it was decided that the dip should be in the Holiday Inn Algarve's'  outdoor swimming pool, which was much warmer than the sea.

A film crew from SIC filmed the whole event and interviewed a number of participants. This brought a lot of national attention to the event when it was shown on their News Programme. http://sicnoticias.sapo.pt/pais/2013/12/25/hotel-em-armacao-de-pera-organiza-mergulho-de-pais-natal

 Sea Conditions on New Years Day were a little better :-

The money will be going to buy shoes during the year for the teenagers at A Gaivota, Santa Casa in Albufeira. Each child at school needs a pair of trainers and plimsolls and the excellent amount raised means that all the teenagers will be fully kitted out.

Certificates were awarded to all those who got wet and everyone enjoyed a "Hot Chocolate " in the Holiday Inn Algarve bar afterwards.

The Holiday Inn Algarve would like to thank all those who took part and all those who watched. Thanks also to all those who helped us to publicise this event.
