Caldeirada Festival in Armação de Pêra

The Annual Caldeirada Festival in Armação de Pêra will be taking place this year from 8th - 10th June, 2018.

Caldeirada” is a typical Algarvian dish which consists of stewed fish and sea food with potatoes, onions ,tomatoes, pimentos, spices wine and olive oil.

Delightful.
A late-night visit, but very clean & very attentive staff. Certainly one of the best curry places locally. Food tasted professionally cooked.

Best ‘Fine Dining’ Restaurant in Armação de Pêra
 

Truly fabulous place, attached to the Holiday Inn and right on the beach in a sheltered spot with both outside and indoor seating. Non-residents can gain access via steps from the promenade beside the hotel where there is a small sign which could easily be missed! Expertly managed by Paulo and his friendly and highly efficient team, who were so helpful with wine and fish selections. If they don’t have a particular fish on the night they will endeavour to obtain it for your next visit - in my case a really delicious sole accompanied by a variety of fresh vegetables and garlic-flavoured baked potatoes.
We ate here 4 nights during the last week of our stay at the HI and wished we had tried it earlier as we would probably have eaten there the whole time. The warm welcome we received from familiar faces (we are regulars at the HI) and the ambience was fantastic. Beautifully interior designed, with views into the gleaming state-of-the-art kitchen, and comfortable seating. Recommend the fish soup or Portobello mushroom for starters, followed by either the filet mignon, salmon, red snapper and of course the sole! Our preferred wine, Dona Maria Rose, was nicely chilled, and the pre-dinner Gin & Tonics very much appreciated after a busy day round the swimming pool.
We have eaten at Vila Vita Parc’s Arte Nautica beach restaurant on previous holidays and can honestly say The Palm Beach is better. Definitely deserves 5 stars.
