Fantastic Place

Came here for a 5 day October break, never been to Algarve before and wasn't sure what to expect. After a good 2 1/2 hour flight from Birmingham and a 30 min taxi ride we arrived at the Holiday Inn Algarve.
Location is honestly about as good as you can get, as close to the beach as can be and the beach itself is superb, massive long and wide and super clean, sea was a nice temperature for a swim, pretty good for time of year.
The hotel is clean and tidy, carpets everywhere rather than tiled floors and caters mostly for the retired folk so no entertainment like parrots or jugglers !
We stayed b&b breakfast was very good, drinks in the bar typical holiday inn bit pricey, (if you are not All inclusive and pay for drinks make sure you get Branded not the local spirits).
The local area is very nice, a small old fishing village, loads of restaurants and cafe bars even at the end of season we found easy to find a lot.
Go on a boat trip to the caves €20 for about an hour very special
Go to the sand sculpture place as well also very good
Go to the beach mid morning and see the fishermen come in with the days catch.
Room tip definitely pay for a sea view and leave your patio door open at night as the sound of the waves are amazing.
Free safe, Tea and Coffee, Fridge and Free Wifi if you sign up to IHG membership just adds to a very nice stay at a very nice hotel in a very nice place.
I would go back for sure and will do.
