Swim Success

Congratulations and thank you to all those who participated in Swim for Shoes on Christmas Day, 2014.

This years event had, for the first time, the support of Events Organiser - Portugal4U and the Albufeira Surf Clube - who added greatly to the excitement by arriving by sea.

The weather was perfect, blue skies and high temperatures, and the sea calm.  At 11.00am a great number of Santas ran toward the sea for their annual dip in the ocean

Certificates were awarded to all those who got wet and everyone enjoyed a very welcome glass of Hot Chocolate and Brandy Wine in the Holiday Inn Algarve Bar afterwards.

A big thank you to everyone who participated, the media for helping with the publicity, Dave Sheldrake and Diogo Correia for photographing the event  and for all the donations - just over 900 Euros was raised yesterday.

In order to raise more funds - there is another "Swim for Shoes" on 1st January at 11.00am - just the way to recover from the festivities of New Year's Eve - welcome in 2015 by paddling or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean - what an achievement !   https://www.facebook.com/events/1442846555944774/
