'What a fiddle!' at the Holiday Inn

The Holiday Inn Algarve was the latest venue to host a “Help for Heroes” fund raising event, on the night of 15th February, and what a night it was!
Attended by more than 120 expats who were treated to good food and fine music from ‘The Oxford Fiddle Group. ’The ‘Fiddlers’ played a variety of music from different regions of the UK as well as from the other side of the Atlantic namely the USA and Canada.
The group presented the music with humour and expertise. "We were so lucky to have the full group on the night as some of the group only just made it to the check-in at Gatwick due to a road accident on the motorway en route to the airport," said organiser, Carole Good–Dixon.
Everyone present enjoyed and applauded their professionalism and skill, and again the Algarve expat's generosity was also to be applauded raising a fantastic €1,520 on the night from ticket donations of €5 each and a very successful raffle.
The organizers Carole Good–Dixon and Lin Hartley would like to thank all those who donated some wonderful prizes to the raffle, the Holiday Inn Algarve who made the night go so smoothly with excellent service, but most of all those that attended this marvellous event and for their generosity.
A cheque for £1,262 is now on its way to H4H in the UK. Carole said “We have raised over €10,000 since we started these events, which is amazing, and shows such support for our wounded service personnel”. Keep up the good work Algarve expats!
