Beautiful location, ideal for more mature guests!

The hotel was fine. We had views over the sea and beach which were well worth paying extra for. The recently updated room was clean and fresh with a huge wardrobe. The TV was newish yet there were only 2 English channels available.

The bar overlooks the beach and the superb staff were very accommodating (there is free afternoon tea and cakes, that wasn't advertised but very welcome). The breakfast was, as other comments mention, very good.

We stayed over the Christmas period and had hoped for a relaxing week. We were not disappointed, as the few guests that were at the hotel were, shall we say, more mature. The town itself is odd. Many, many empty high-rises tower over the town of traditional touristy bars and restaurants.

The walk on the beach from the hotel to the fishermens huts is superb and the sandy beach is lovely. The updated promenade is lovely too, with sealife mosaics and clever lighting.

We would go back to the hotel to see how Holiday Inn have continued to improve things (hopefully the outside are, pool etc), but we wouldn't stay in the town!
